One Night in Vegas

It was a real chance encounter, I was standing in the box office at Richmond waiting to see Richard, who was going to show me around, when this bubbly character burst out of the auditorium wanting to know how many tickets had been sold and just started talking to me.
‘Do you want and see the show’ he asked,
‘I normally just do drama’
‘Its fun, have 2 tickets’
With that his blackberry went with another message from a fan on facebook.
‘I will have 1’. I wish I had taken the second and dragged another pal along, be cause this was a very fun enjoyable night, for the bubbly character was Martyn Lewis doing his get in, arranging rostra, doing lights, dealing with box office, seeing the press agents, booking tickets for fans from face book and then finally bursting on to the stage to give us a night to remember in Vegas with a top class Orchestra, show girls and a virtually non stop show with over 35 songs from the legends of Vegas, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Presley, Manilow, Elton John and a medley of Beatles songs and songs from Phantom of the Opera. The programme noted that he got a break on ‘Stars in Their Eyes’, as a singing impressionist, but these were no impressions, they were much, much better than that as Martyn gave us a superb performance with songs they much in his own style, then added to that the showgirls came out and danced to most of the songs in a plethora of costumes.
Three ladies were sitting in front of me
‘Are you fans?’ I asked
‘We had never heard of him, we just for a night out, he is fantastic!’

Fantastic he indeed was, two hours of non-stop enjoyment.
‘This sounds good’ said Ralph, the landlord of my local, ‘I wouldn’t mind seeing him’
My advice to you all, if you see him billed, get yourself a ticket and don’t miss the show, you will not be disappointed. I was really glad to bump into him and to be offered a ticket.
